Manesar (Haryana): Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. has secured the first compliance certificate from the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus, marking a significant milestone in India’s long-distance passenger transport segment.
The certificate has been issued under AIS-119 and AIS-153 in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR).
The certificate was formally handed over by ICAT Director Saurabh Dalela to Synaty Automotive Managing Director Naresh Kumar Yadav in the presence of senior ICAT officials.
The 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus has been developed for long-distance passenger transportation, with a focus on structural strength, emergency and fire safety, passenger movement and travel comfort.
The fully sleeper variant has a capacity of 42 berths, while the hybrid configuration offers 21 berths and 42 seats, providing operators with flexibility for different long-distance travel requirements.
The vehicle has undergone testing and certification for applicable requirements covering vehicle safety, structural integrity, passenger accommodation and comfort under the relevant automotive standards and CMVR provisions.
“This certification is a significant achievement for ICAT and reflects our technical capabilities in testing and certifying advanced passenger vehicles. It reinforces our commitment to passenger safety, regulatory compliance and technological advancement,” Dalela said.
He added that ICAT would continue to support the Indian automotive industry in developing safer, more reliable and technologically advanced mobility solutions.
Yadav expressed appreciation for the certification, saying the achievement would further strengthen Synaty Automotive’s efforts to develop safe, reliable and comfortable solutions for long-distance passenger transportation.
The certification also highlights ICAT’s role in evaluating advanced passenger vehicle configurations and assisting manufacturers in meeting prescribed regulatory and technical requirements.
Synaty Automotive’s achievement comes as the passenger transport industry increasingly explores larger and more specialised bus configurations for inter-city and long-distance travel.
