New Delhi: Chartered Speed Limited, one of India’s leading passenger mobility companies, is accelerating the deployment of almost 3,000 electric buses across 18 cities under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa & e-Drive Scheme, supporting the expansion of modern and sustainable public transportation across emerging urban centres in India.
Through this rollout, the company aims to bring metro-grade public transport experiences to Tier-II and Tier-III cities by improving accessibility, enabling cleaner mobility and strengthening technology-led transit systems. Once fully operational, the network is expected to serve nearly 20 crore green kilometres annually.

The company is investing in skilled manpower development, structured driver recruitment, continuous training programmes and technology-enabled operational systems, anchored by an integrated Command & Control Centre that enables real-time fleet monitoring and operational oversight. As part of this ongoing expansion, Chartered Speed has officially commenced electric bus operations in Shillong, Jaipur and Bhilwara under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, further strengthening sustainable public transportation infrastructure across different regions of the country. The launch of operations in Meghalaya and Rajasthan reflects the collaborative efforts of state & central governments and industry stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of cleaner, more accessible and future-ready mobility solutions.
In Shillong, Chartered Speed is advancing the rollout of 55 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, which was flagged off by Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, marking a significant step towards sustainable, accessible and modern public transport in the state. The fleet comprises:
Rajasthan Deployment
In Rajasthan, Chartered Speed is advancing the rollout of electric buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, with an order for 876 electric buses across the state. Of these, 318 buses are planned for Jaipur and 50 buses for Bhilwara.
The initial phase of operations was flagged off by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, with 29 electric buses commencing operations in Jaipur and 18 electric buses in Bhilwara. The remaining buses will be commissioned in a phased manner, further strengthening urban mobility, enhancing connectivity, and promoting cleaner public transportation across the state.
