JCBL builds luxury caravans to elevate Bihar Tourism experience

New Delhi: Bihar’s tourism landscape is gearing up for a major upgrade as JCBL Limited, a flagship company of the JCBL Group, has delivered two luxury caravans to the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. Built over a focused three-month timeline, the custom-designed motorhomes bring a premium travel experience to the state’s wildlife and heritage circuits.

The vehicles will first run on popular routes such as Rajgir, the Valmiki Nagar Tiger Reserve safari paths, and the Bodhgaya–Nalanda trail. Once fully operational, the fleet will expand to other parts of Bihar and select interstate destinations, giving tourists a stylish and comfortable way to explore the region. Bihar Tourism believes the new partnership will significantly enhance the quality of travel across key circuits known for culture, spirituality and biodiversity.

Each caravan has been designed with comfort and practicality in mind. The interiors include four reclining seats that can rotate 360 degrees, a sofa that converts into a bed, and four sleeper berths that come with privacy curtains. Entertainment options are plentiful, with five screens, including four smart TVs and a large LED television in the lounge. For longer journeys, the caravans are equipped with a modular kitchen fitted with essential appliances, allowing travellers to enjoy a self-contained experience on the road.

JCBL Group CMD Rajinder Aggarwal said the company’s decades of expertise in specialised vehicle manufacturing helped shape these premium motorhomes. He noted that the goal was to combine comfort with innovation so passengers could enjoy a memorable journey. Dinesh Dua, Business Head for Marketing and Sales, added that JCBL values its long-standing association with the Bihar government and looks forward to future opportunities in the state. He said the caravans will be inaugurated soon and opened for bookings for the general public.

A spokesperson for Bihar Tourism said the addition of these mobile caravans supports the state’s efforts to make travel more relaxed and enjoyable for visitors. They highlighted the benefits for tourists heading to Valmiki Nagar, Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Rajgir and other nearby destinations.

The motorhomes are built for full-day trips and come with adjustable lighting, round-the-clock Wi-Fi, charging points, and a compact washroom to ensure a comfortable journey. The vehicles were built in Chandigarh and will be available for public use once registration and permit formalities are complete.

Ratnesh Kumar, Manager at the Bihar Tourism Department, said both caravans were procured from Chandigarh and will be made available as soon as the registration is finalised. He said the state is trying to secure a nationwide permit so tourists can travel across India with the caravans. Rental charges have been set at INR 75 per kilometre, with a minimum daily requirement of 250 kilometres, which comes to around INR 20,000 per day. Kumar called the vehicle a moving five-star hotel, noting the security systems and CCTV surveillance installed onboard.

The caravans come with several premium amenities, including luxury inclinator seats, a three-seater sofa, smart TVs, an in-built theatre system, a well-equipped kitchen, and bathrooms with showers. The four individual bedrooms feature orthopaedic mattresses designed for cervical comfort. The vehicles also include a dressing room, fire detectors, an emergency exit, air suspension, revolving chairs, and aircraft-style overhead luggage compartments.

Vishal Ratan, Sales Manager at JCBL, said the company has already received interest from neighbouring states and expects to supply more caravans soon. He described the vehicles as comparable to a mobile private jet, capable of handling long-distance travel to destinations like Leh, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.

The initiative is expected to open a new chapter for Bihar’s tourism sector by offering travellers a premium, mobile and highly comfortable way to experience the state’s natural and cultural richness.
