New Delhi: Sharda Motor Industries Ltd.,one of India’s prominent Tier-1 suppliers, announced that it has signed a Technology Licence Agreement (TLA) with Donghee Industries Co. Ltd., Republic of Korea, for Advanced suspension products in India.
Under the agreement, Donghee will transfer design drawings, process know-how and validation protocols to SMIL. SMIL will locally produce Control arms, Torsion beams and Sub-frames for Indian and Global OEM platforms.
The agreement marks the strengthening of SMIL’s Suspension Portfolio, including Lightweight Engineering, Structural Integrity, and next-generation manufacturing processes. India’s transition toward SUVs, Electric and premium segments in passenger vehicles is driving demand for new age suspension technology, and this collaboration addresses the overall capability gap in the Indian market.
Donghee brings Global technology and vast product experience across geographies and customers, including Global giants like Hyundai, Kia, VW, and Stellantis. SMIL brings India-wide manufacturing scale, deep domestic OEM relationships and a strong localisation focus, and together aim to deliver world-class suspension solutions tailored for Indian driving conditions.
